Crisis in Sudan
Internally displaced people at a camp in Darfur, Sudan
Conflict in the Darfur region of western Sudan has caused millions of people to flee their homes. Some 200,000 are estimated by the United Nations to have died as a result of the violence.
Trócaire is working with Caritas International and Action of Churches Together to target 500,000 Internally Displaced People (IDPs) under its Emergency Response Programme in Darfur.
We are also working throughout Sudan to rebuild a society devastated by conflict. By working with local partners who fully understand the needs of a community, we know how to help people in the best way possible.
